What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care is a membership model of healthcare that puts the emphasis back on the personalized relationship between a patient and their doctor. It removes intermediaries such as insurance companies and remote call centers and does away with unreasonable wait times and surprise billing. Your annual membership fee covers unlimited visits and in-office care.
Dr. Diggs is your doctor—every appointment you have at our office will be with him, no exceptions!

A full medical history, including family and social history
Discussion with the patient about health goals
Hands-on exam
In-office testing, as appropriate (see full list of in-office procedures here)
Full explanation and education about any recommended treatments
Prescriptions and lab test orders, as needed

During my fourteen-year tenure serving the Palmer/Monson/Wilbraham area, I had the pleasure of having the largest primary care practice in the Baystate system. My style of practice is personal and interactive. I ask a lot of questions in an effort to understand each person’s individual attitudes, priorities, and previous experiences.
Direct Primary Care puts the focus back on you and your health. At John Diggs MD LLC, we take the time to get to know you and your needs. While it can save money in some instances, the emphasis is on quality service more than lower cost. However, the cost savings are sometimes unrecognized. Examples:
You will see me on time rather than an hour or more after your scheduled time. You don’t have to take half the day off work.
For urgent but not emergency care, you can usually be seen on short notice. I can periodically arrange visits outside the usual office hours.
Catch illness before it develops to the degree that emergency care (and ER co-pays) are necessary.
Your membership includes longer visits—up to 90 minutes—to allow for more thorough evaluation.
